WHAT YOU NEED:

1 cup  butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

2 cups flour

2-1/2 cups rolled oats or quick cooking oats (measure oats as whole grain, then put in blender/food processor to make into flour)

1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. baking soda

12 oz. chocolate chips

1-1/2 cups nuts (can be omitted)

MAKING IT:

In electric mixer, cream together butter, both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.

In a separate bowl, stir together flour, oat flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
